Job Description:

Flight Operations:

  • Be responsible for the safe operation of the aircraft and safety of its occupants and cargo during flight time.
  • Have authority to give all commands he deems necessary for ensuring the safety of the aircraft and of persons or property carried therein.
  • Have authority to disembark any person, or any part of the cargo, which in his opinion, may represent a potential hazard to the safety of the aircraft or its occupants.
  • Not allow a person to be carried in the aircraft who appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs to the extent that the safety of the aircraft or its occupants is likely to be endangered.
  • Have the right to refuse transportation of inadmissible passengers, deportees or persons in custody if their carriage poses any risk to the safety of the aircraft or its occupants.
  • Ensure that all passengers are briefed on the location of emergency exits and the location and use of relevant safety and emergency equipment.
  • Ensure that the weather forecast and reports for the proposed operating area and flight duration indicate that the flight may be conducted without infringing Company operating minima.
  • Decide whether or not to accept an aircraft with unserviceability allowed by the CDL or MEL.
  • Take all reasonable steps to ensure that the aircraft and any required equipment are serviceable.
  • In the absence of a qualified Company engineer, ensure that aircraft refueling is supervised with particular attention being paid to:
    • The correct grade and amount of fuel,
    • Fuel water checks,
    • Fire safety precautions,
    • Checking filler caps for security and correct replacement after refueling.
  • Take all reasonable steps to ensure that the aircraft weight and balance are within the calculated limits for the operating conditions.
  • Confirm that the aircraft’s performance will enable it to complete safely the proposed flight.
  • Not permit any crew member to perform any activity during take-off, initial climb, final approach, and landing except those duties required for the safe operation of the aircraft.
  • Take all reasonable steps to ensure that before take-off and before landing the flight and cabin crew are properly secured in their allocated seats.
  • Take all reasonable steps to ensure that whenever the aircraft is taxiing, taking off or landing, or whenever he considers it advisable (e.g. in turbulent conditions), all passengers are properly secured in their seats and all cabin baggage is stowed in 3 the approved stowage’s.
  • Ensure that the required manuals and documents are carried and will remain valid throughout the flight or series of flights.
  • Ensure that the pre-flight inspection has been carried out.
  • The P-I-C shall, in an emergency that requires immediate decision and action, take any action he considers necessary under the circumstances. In such a case, he may deviate from rules, operational procedures, and methods in the interest of safety.
  • The P-I-C has the authority to apply greater safety margins, including aerodrome operating minimam, if he deems it necessary.
  • The P-I-C must ensure that a continuous listening watch is maintained on the appropriate radio communication frequencies at all times whenever the flight crew is manning the aircraft for the purpose of commencing and/or conducting a flight and when taxiing.
  • The P-I-C must ensure that abnormal or emergency situations, system malfunctions, and IMC conditions are not simulated for any purpose on public transport flights.
  • In addition to the above, the P-I-C must take all reasonable measures to ensure: That he and other crew members under his command maintain a high standard of public conduct at all times whilst in circumstances in which they could reasonably be recognized as being Company aircrew.
  • That he and other crew members under his command present a neat and tidy appearance when wearing the Company uniform.
  • That he makes no attempt and no attempt is made by other crew members under his command, to evade any KSA or foreign customs, immigration or health regulations.
  • That he exercises proper care in handling Company funds entrusted to him and renders, as and when required, proper accounting of them.
  • That confidential information concerning the Company’s operation is not divulged by him or by other members under his command to the media, to other company’s employees, or to the public.
  • That he refrains, and that other crew member under his command refrain, from discussing the Company’s activities in public.

Policies and Procedures:

  • Ensuring a high level of safety for passengers, crewmembers, cargo, and the aircraft.
  • Ensure that all operational procedures and checklists are complied with, in accordance with company manuals.
  • Ensure Cockpit Crew complies with flynas policies and processes, practices and systems, and maintain flynas high standard of work and work ethic.
  • Lead the process of designing workable process standards and best practices for the department. And apply improvement when needed.
  • Manage the Department’s performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Support continuous improvement activities in the department.

Job Requirements:

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5000 flight hours
  • Minimum of 2500 flight hours PIC time

Education and Certifications:

  • Valid ATPL License
  • Valid class 1 Pilot Medical License
  • Valid ELP level 4 or 5 or 6 is preferable
