Oman Air B737NG Captain

Educational Qualifications:

  • Valid ATPL (EASA/ICAO)
  • Valid B737NG Rating
  • ICAO English Language Proficiency (written and verbal) minimum of level 4.
  • Current Class 1 Medical.
  • Minimum total time of 5000 flying hours including 1500 hours as PIC on multi pilot certified aeroplanes with 500 hours on type.
  • Age: Minimum 25 years; and less than 55 years.
  • Omain only.

Job Description:

  1. Be responsible for the safety of all crew members, passengers and cargo on board as soon as he arrives on board, until he leaves the airplane at the end of flight;
  2. Be responsible for the operation and safety of the airplane from the moment the airplane is ready to move for the purpose of taxing prior to taking off until the moment it finally comes to rest at the end of the flight and the engine(s) are shut down;
  3. Be responsible for all flight documentation, and ensure that information regarding aircraft registration, date of flight, flight number, crew names and duty assignment, departure and arrival airports, ATD, ATA and flight time are all recorded. Refer to OM-A 8.1.10.3 for additional guidance;
  4. Have authority to give all commands he deems necessary for the purpose of securing the safety of the airplane and of persons or property carried therein, and all persons carried in the airplane shall obey such commands;
  5. Have authority to disembark any person, or any part of the cargo, which in his opinion, may represent a potential hazard to the safety of the airplane or its occupants;
  6. Not allow a person to be carried in the airplane who appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs to the extent that the safety of the airplane or its occupants is likely to be endangered;
  7. Have the right to refuse transportation of inadmissible passengers, deportees or persons in custody if their carriage poses any risk to the safety of the airplane or its occupants;
  8. Ensure that all passengers are briefed on the location of emergency exits and the location and use of relevant safety and emergency equipment;
  9. Ensure that all operational procedures and checklists are complied with, in accordance with the SOPs and Operations Manual; ensure compliance with operating limitations as defined by the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and established by the applicable Authorities.
  10. Ensure that the weather forecast and reports for the proposed operating area and flight duration indicate that the flight may be conducted without infringing Company operating minima;
  11. Decide whether or not to accept an airplane with unserviceability’s allowed by the CDL or MEL;
  12. Take all reasonable steps to ensure that the airplane, and any required equipment is serviceable and ready for use, and record in the Aircraft Technical Log (ATL), for each flight, a description of known or suspected defects that affect operation of the aircraft;
