We are looking for expressions of interest from pilots wanting to join Air New Zealand in our Turboprop Fleets in 2020. Here, you’ll find yourself in the right-hand seat of an ATR or a Dash 8 Q300.

In our turboprop fleets, entry is at First Officer level and positions are located at a number of bases around the country. Whether you are looking for a career flying props or a pathway to our jet fleet, this is a great point of entry. As a First Officer flying a Dash 8 Q300 or an ATR, you will play a pivotal role in flying our customers to their destinations for work, business, family or pleasure.

To be considered for this opportunity, you must meet the following requirements:

  • NZCAA CPL*
  • NZCAA MEIR*
  • NZCAA Class 1 Medical*
  • 500 hours total time
  • 25 night hours
  • 40 hours Instrument Flight Time
  • BTK, ILS, VOR endorsements
  • University Entrance / Equivalent
  • L6 English Language Proficiency
  • Entitled to live and work permanently in New Zealand (i.e. New Zealand Indefinite/Permanent Resident, New Zealand Citizen, or Australian Citizen)
  • Ability to swim 50 metres in under 2 minutes & tread water for 1 minute – wet drills are completed during training.

*Whilst you must meet these requirements prior to an offer of employment, we understand that you may have foreign-issued qualifications that could be converted to NZCAA licences. Should this be the case, we may consider your application while you are undertaking the conversion process with NZCAA. If applicable, you will need to complete the formal Foreign Licence Conversion initial process through Aspeq and provide a copy of the initial assessment letter ahead of being invited to interview.
