Role Purpose:

  • The Co-pilot is the Commander’s deputy and is a member of the flight crew acting in piloting capacity, other than Commander.

Key Accountability:

  • The Co-pilot is the Commander’s deputy and is a member of the flight crew acting in piloting capacity, other than Commander
  • When the Commander is absent or becomes incapacitated, the Co-pilot assumes the Commander’s authority and the responsibility
  • Responsibly participate in the preparation of the flight and to attentively monitor the progress of the flight in order to be able to assume this authority/responsibility at any given moment, either by the Commander’s direction or when necessitated by the Commander’s incapacitation
  • The Co-pilot shall assist the Commander in the management of the flight and the manipulation of the aircraft controls in accordance with the directions of the Commander and approved AFM

Minimum Qualification & Requirement:

  • MALAYSIAN national
  • Holds an SPM or Diploma
  • A successful candidate for licensed Pilot with flying experience; must have minimum of following:
    • Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) OR Commercial Pilot License (CPL) with Frozen ATPL
    • Holds Instrument Rating
    • Valid Class 1 medical certificate
    • English Language Proficiency (ELP), minimum Level 4
    • Currently undergoing line training for type rating with minimum 350 Grand Total Hours
    • Holds minimum 500 Grand Total Hours
    • Hold an Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) or Commercial Pilot License (CPL) with Frozen ATPL
    • Holds a valid Class 1 medical certificate
    • Holds an English Language Proficiency (ELP) Level 4 or better
    • Previous Training records review (if any)
  • Additional requirements for candidates holding a CPL with Theoretical ATPL:
    • Age not exceeding 45 years old as at date of selection
    • Graduated from company’s recognized Flight Training Organization (FTO)
    • Theoretical exam sittings not exceeding 4 attempts on any subject
  • Additional requirements for licensed pilot with experience:
    • Age not exceeding 56 years old as at date of selection
    • Minimum 500 hours grand total
    • MAB rated aircraft type or equivalent

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirement and principles of flight
  • Sound flying skills with knowledge of operations disciplines, specialized technical knowledge of current fleets in the system
  • Strong in interpersonal and communications skills, good analytical skill, and good at issue engagements
