L3 Airline Academy are proud to be launching an exciting career for Bruneian Nationals to fulfil their dream of becoming a Commercial Airline Pilot.
Operating 14 aircraft travelling to 23 destinations in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Europe and Australia, Royal Brunei is the national flag carrier airline of Brunei Darussalam.
The L3 Airline Academy in partnership with Royal Brunei is an exciting opportunity for tomorrow’s airline pilots to join their carrier. This is a government-funded airline pilot career development program which will offer successful applicants a unique opportunity to complete full-time integrated ATPL training at L3 Airline Academy training centers across the globe. The final leg of training to complete the A320 ‘Type Rating’ and ‘Line training’ will be done with Royal Brunei.
Places on this program are strictly limited to Citizens of Negara Brunei Darussalam only.
Course Milestones:
- ATPL Theoretical Knowledge training
- ATPL Theory examination
- Airline Preparation throughout your L3 Airline Academy training
- Single Engine flight training – DA20 and G1000 equipped C172
- Commercial Pilot’s Licence (CPL)
- Multi Engine Instrument Rating – G1000 equipped DA42
- Frozen Airline Transport Pilots Licence & Instrument Rating (ATPL/IR)
- L3 Airline Academy Airline Qualification Course incorporating MCC
- Royal Brunei A320 Type Rating
- Employment as a Royal Brunei A320 First Officer
The application window for our Integrated ATPL in partnership with Royal Brunei Cadet Pilot Scheme is open from Sunday 8th September to Friday 18th October 2019.

Entry Criteria:
- Citizens of His Majesty The Sultan and Yang Di Pertuan Negara Brunei Darussalam
- Single
- Minimum of 18 up to 26 years of age at commencement of training
- Minimum height of 5 feet 2 inches (157.5 cm)
- Have a Body Mass Index of less than 35
- Able to pass an EASA GBR (UK) Medical and BAR Medical
- Physically and mentally fit
- Be fluent in English (verbal and written)* and Bahasa Malayu
- Able to pass a security vetting for the issuance of airport passes
- Able to satisfy any immigration requirements for resident Flight
Training in the United Kingdom and New Zealand**
For non-native English speakers, you will be required to present a certificate prior to training commencement demonstrating you have achieved International English Language Testing System.
(IELTS) Level 5.5 overall, with no less than 5.5 in any individual area (Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking. (This must be the Academic test, not General Training).

Applicants who have previously obtained scholarships must declare details of such scholarships during initial application.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate one of the following education prerequisites:
Option 1:
- 6 GCE/GCSE “O” level grade B or above including English, Malay, Mathematics and Physics or Chemistry
- Remaining subjects should be English based
- Prior aviation experience and / or qualifications (such as PPL or CPL) will be an advantage
Option 2:
- 2 GCE/GCSE “A” level grade B or above including a Science and a Mathematics subject AND
- 4 GCE/GCSE “O” level Grade C or above in English, Malay, Mathematics and a Science
- Prior aviation experience and / or qualifications (such as PPL or CPL) will be an advantage
Option 3:
- Higher National Diploma (HND) in either a Science and / or Maths based subject AND
- 5 GCE/GCSE “O” level Grade B or above including English, Malay, Mathematics and Physics or Chemistry. Remaining subjects should be English based OR
- Prior aviation experience and / or qualifications (such as PPL or CPL).
Option 4:
- Bachelors degree (minimum 2/2) AND
- 2 GCE/GCSE “A” level grade C or above including a Science and a Mathematics subject OR
- 4 GCE/GCSE “O” level grade C or above in English, Malay, Mathematics and a Science OR
- Prior aviation experience and / or qualifications (such as PPL or CPL)

Application & selection:
Your application will be screened by a member of the L3 Airline Academy selection team.
If you meet the initial criteria, we will invite you to take part in an assessment day. These are normally held at Royal Brunei’s training facilities in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei.
